It activates instantly through compression

The composition of XPA is free from the presence of low boiling solvents and therefore it does not work by evaporation, but its activation is generated by the passage of motor vehicles over it. Unlike other products, XPA therefore works through compression and, thanks to its strong adhesive power, it perfectly matches the road surface.

Resistant in-situ

XPA is used interchangeably in any degraded road surface situations. It is 10 times more effective than a traditional product.

High workability

XPA is a product that can be easily used thanks to its extreme workability. No “tack coat” priming is required. Simply apply, level if necessary, perform an initial compacting if necessary, and the laying is complete with the need for any special tools.

Does not dirty and is odorless

One of the most important features of XPA is that it does not release any type of bituminous residue. It is a practically dry product that does not grease clothes, tools or any transport vehicle storage compartments when used in loose bulk. It is also completely odorless and does not contain any low boiling solvents. All this to the great advantage of workers who normally deposit it, and of the citizens, for which problems caused by scattered materials and bad smells will be avoided.

XPA’s high resistance to traffic allows for a drastic reduction of repairs on various road surface deterioration, with notable savings in terms of labor.

Repairs are made on any only once

At first glance, XPA has a greater cost, but in reality it is the beginning of a series of considerable savings for the administrations that use it. First and foremost, XPA maintenance is long-lasting. Maintenance is made once and then, depending on the type of road deterioration, no further maintenance is needed for a period of time that can vary from 12 to 36 months. XPA therefore allows for huge savings in labor costs, without the expense of special disposal, as the emptied bag is recyclable in ordinary plastic. Thanks to its composition, the product is always usable with temperatures ranging from -30°C to + 80°C. Storage times easily reach ≥ 12 months, allowing for easier supply planning.

The asphalt that lasts over time!

Traditional cold mix asphalts made with standard liquid binders (whether they are distilled or modified bitumen, modified emulsions) are cheaper but have a number of unfavorable characteristics that make them uneconomical compared to XPA. They in fact do not easily resist long periods of time in-situ, especially in the case of rainfall. They are easily subject to deformation due to high temperatures; on the contrary, they show difficult to reverse hardening already at 5/7°C. The emptied bags are special waste, causing a further increase in cost for disposal. As these types are not long-lasting, maintenance need to be made multiple times in the same place, causing considerable labor costs. Finally, their storage costs in warehouses are unlikely to reach 6 months.

Advantages


Frost and salt-resistant

At the same time, once it is laid in-situ, it does not present problems of structural fractures in the presence of intense cold thanks to its high elasticity. It is also not sensitive to road thawing treatments.

Resistant to high temperatures

XPA uses a highly modified product as a binder and this gives it high resistance to solar radiation. As a result, it does not incur in softening problems once laid in-situ. It will not show any bulging effects up to temperatures over 60°C.

Does not stick to tires

Thanks to its special structure, XPA does not stick in any way to tires, remaining perfectly anchored on the road surface. Rather, the more it is pressed by light or heavy, vehicular transit, the better it works.

Permanent
